Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution PLC today expressed regret for the temporary inconvenience caused to residents of Dhaka city due to severe gas pressure shortage in the gas pipeline.

“Although the damaged pipeline in Turag River was repaired, but water entered into the pipeline during repairing, which led to the overall low gas supply in city,” according to a Titas Gas press release.

The gas pipeline installed in the river bed of the Turag River was damaged when the anchor of a cargo trawler hit the distribution pipeline in Amin Bazar area, it said.

The Titas Gas company release further said that necessary technical and operational activities were underway to resolve the low gas pressure problem, reports BSS.
