The government has reduced fuel prices by Tk 2 per litre across the country. The move will take effect at the consumer level from February 1.

The Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry announced the decision in a press release issued today.

Under the revised rates, diesel will be sold at Tk 100 per litre, down from Tk 102. Octane prices have been reduced to Tk 120 from Tk 122 per litre, while petrol will now cost Tk 116 per litre instead of Tk 118. Kerosene prices have also been lowered to Tk 112 per litre from the previous Tk 114, reports BSS.

According to the ministry, fuel prices in the country are adjusted automatically at the consumer level in line with fluctuations in the global market.
