Gas supply across areas served by Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Limited will remain under severe pressure until midnight on 16 February due to reduced LNG supply caused by maintenance at a terminal.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the state-run distributor said the temporary shutdown of one liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal has significantly cut the volume of re-gasified LNG fed into the national grid.
“As a result, consumers in all categories within the Titas franchise area will experience very low gas pressure until midnight on 16 February,” the statement said.
The company apologised for the inconvenience and requested customers’ cooperation during the maintenance period. It did not specify when the work began or how much supply had been reduced, but said normal pressure would be restored once the terminal resumes operation.
Titas Gas supplies natural gas to households, industries, power plants, and commercial establishments across the greater Dhaka region and nearby areas.
