SSC 2026: Girls Outshine Boys in Pass Rate, GPA-5

Female students have outperformed male students in both pass rates and GPA-5 results in this year's SSC and equivalent examinations under the nine general education boards.

A total of 107,982 more female students passed the examinations than male students, while 11,401 more female students achieved GPA-5.

The results of the SSC and equivalent examinations were published at an event organised by the Ministry of Education at around 10am on Monday.

Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon formally announced the results.

The overall pass rate across the nine general education boards stood at 64.05% this year, down from 68.04% last year, marking a decline of 3.99 percentage points.

A total of 106,009 students achieved GPA-5 under the nine general education boards this year, compared with 125,018 last year, a decrease of 19,009.

Across the two alternative education boards, 10,667 examinees secured GPA-5 this year.

Under the Technical Education Board, the pass rate stood at 58.20%, with 3,951 students achieving GPA-5.

The Madrasah Education Board recorded a pass rate of 55.49%, with 6,716 students securing GPA-5.

Meanwhile, 312 educational institutions recorded a zero pass rate this year.

Of these, 57 were under the nine general education boards, 226 under the Madrasah Education Board and 29 under the Technical Education Board.

At one foreign examination centre, none of the examinees passed.
