Govt Unveils 2027 Hajj Packages, Cuts Airfare

The government on Tuesday announced the Hajj packages for 2027, reducing Hajj airfare by Tk 24,830 and setting the cost of the two government packages at Tk 615,263 and Tk 505,648, respectively.

Religious Affairs Minister Kazi Shah Mofazzal Houssain announced the packages at a press briefing held at the Bangladesh Secretariat.

Under the first government package, pilgrims will stay within 1,000 to 1,400 metres of Masjid al-Haram in Makkah and in the Markazia area of Madinah. They will be accommodated in Zone-2 tents in Mina, while accommodation, meals and other services in Mina and Arafat will be provided under Service Package-3 through authorised Moallems.

The expected duration of stay in Saudi Arabia will be 35 to 40 days, with pilgrims having the option to upgrade accommodation or choose a shorter stay by paying additional charges.

Under the second government package, pilgrims will stay two to three kilometres from Masjid al-Haram in Makkah and within 800 metres of Masjid an-Nabawi outside the Markazia area in Madinah.

They will be accommodated in Zone-5 tents in Mina, while shuttle bus (Salawat) services will be provided in accordance with Saudi regulations if hotels are located more than two kilometres from the Grand Mosque.

For pilgrims travelling through private Hajj agencies, the standard package has been fixed at Tk 513,648.

Under the private package, accommodation must be arranged within three kilometres of Masjid al-Haram in Makkah and within one kilometre of Masjid an-Nabawi in Madinah. A maximum of six pilgrims will be allowed per room, while accommodation and services in Mina and Arafat will also be provided under Service Package-3.

The minister said the government remains committed to making Hajj more affordable, accessible and pilgrim-friendly in line with its election pledge.

As part of that effort, the airfare for Hajj flights has been reduced to Tk 130,000, down Tk 24,830 from the previous year.

He noted that Hajj airfare stood at nearly Tk 200,000 in 2023, was reduced to Tk 167,820 in 2025, and has now been further lowered to Tk 130,000 for the 2027 Hajj.
