Dhaka, Jan 07 - Signature Collection, one of Bangladesh's renowned fashion houses, has opened its first outlet in New York to meet the growing demand for Bangladeshi apparel among expatriates.

The outlet, located at 90-03 Merrick Blvd, Jamaica, marks their first international venture and was officially launched with a grand celebration on January 5, attended by a large gathering of the Bangladeshi diaspora.

The celebration began with the cutting of a cake by Farzana Islam Rumki, founder and CEO of the fashion house.

On the opening day, a large number of customers flocked to the beautifully decorated outlet, purchasing clothes, mainly salwar-kameez and sarees, to take advantage of the ongoing discount, as stated in a media release.

The discount will continue for six more days, according to Ms Rumki, CEO of "Signature Collection." The fashion house, which started its venture in Bangladesh in 2017, now has five outlets—four in Dhaka and one in Chattogram.

Farzana Rumki expressed her pride and excitement over the opening of their first international outlet. She noted that a significant number of Bangladeshis reside in the USA, particularly in New York, known as the commercial capital, and the outlet was opened in response to the growing demand for Bangladeshi apparel.

She mentioned that their product fairs in various US cities had received a tremendous response from the Bangladeshi expatriate community.

Rumki called for the sincere cooperation and prayers of the Bangladeshi diaspora to ensure the success of their venture.

She also revealed plans to expand by opening more outlets in other US cities with large Bangladeshi populations, as well as in other countries.

“We have 8.50 lakh online followers at home and abroad, who are providing inspiration to us frequently,” Farzana Rumki added.-UNB
