'Concert for Democracy' held at Suhrawardy Udyan to mark July Uprising Day
The mega musical event titled 'Concert for Democracy' was held today at the historic Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital to commemorate the second anniversary of the student-led July Mass Uprising.
Jointly organized by the Ministry of Cultural Affairs and Bangladesh Musical Bands Association under the supervision of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, the open-air concert aimed to celebrate democratic aspirations and honor the spirit of the July movement through music.
The gates were opened to the public at 1:00pm, and the main concert ran from 3:00pm to 9:00pm.
Seven leading music bands of the country-Miles, Warfaze, Different Touch, Lalon, Highway, Ashes, and RERE-performed at the event.
An award distribution ceremony was also held as part of the program, where crests were handed over to the participants.
Strict security measures, including enhanced surveillance and multi-tier security coverage, were deployed across the venue to ensure a peaceful and smooth execution of the program.
Cultural Affairs Minister Nitai Roy Chowdhury and Prime Minister's Information and Broadcasting Adviser Dr. Zahed Ur Rahman were present in the event, reports BSS.
