Jeddah, 09 April 2024 - The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Mr. Hissein Brahim Taha, expressed warm felicitations to the entire Islamic ummah on the occasion of the 1445H Eid El-Fitr, praying to the almighty Allah to accept their fast, bless everyone on this occasion and spread benevolence in the entire Muslim world. He extends warm felicitations to Their Majesties, Excellencies, and Highnesses Kings, Presidents, and Emirs of OIC Member States. The Secretary-General and the OIC General Secretariat also join the host country in its celebrations on this occasion, congratulating the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under the leadership of the Custodian of The Two Holy Mosques King Salman Ibn Abdulaziz Al Saud and the Crown Prince HRH Prince Mohammed Bin Salman.

Mr. Taha stated that much as one must be pleased with Allah’s favors on this beautiful occasion, the heart is overwhelmed by Palestinians languishing under unprecedented brutal aggression of the Israeli occupation forces who did not give the people a space to pray or even observe the Ramadan fast in peace, but rather intensified their killing, destruction, and starvation.

The Secretary-General singled out the Palestinian people for congratulations on this occasion praying to Allah almighty to remove this anguish, bless those killed, end the crisis end aggression, and protect the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Mr. Taha emphasized that although many crises continue to hurt the Ummah, he renewed his solidarity with the Rohingya refugees and other Muslims in various parts of the world, including the Sahel region and Lake Chad Basin and Muslims of Jammu and Kashmir and other crisis zones across the globe whose Eid celebrations have been dampened by their difficult conditions, and hoping that war will stop in Sudan.

At the conclusion of his remarks, the Secretary-General expressed the hope that peace, blessings, security, safety, and prosperity will prevail throughout the world, and that the causes of hatred, violence, extremism, and terrorism will be brought to an end. He also hoped that the occasion would be an opportunity for self-reevaluation and the continuation of serious collective action to overcome the challenges facing the entire Islamic Ummah.- OIC News
