Empower disabled people thru inclusive dev: Abdus Salam

Dhaka South City Corporation Administrator Abdus Salam was the chief guest at the BPKS Lottery draw at the National Press Club on Sunday.



The draw of BPKS Lottery 2026 was held at the National Press Club on Sunday with Abdus Salam, Administrator of Dhaka City Corporation calling for concerted efforts to empower disabled people through inclusive development.

Addressing the program as the chief guest he said that disabled people were talented and could contribute to national development if they had proper education and training. 

He said that successive BNP governments took initiatives for disabled people. Former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia had adopted the national policy on disabled people while sitting PM Tarique Rahman has set up a steering committee to ensure disabled-friendly development in the country.

He assured all support from the Dhaka South City Corporation to promote activities for improvement of the quality of life of disabled people.

Presided over by Azmal Hossain, Additional Commissioner of Dhaka Division the function was addressed by Abdus Sattar Dulal, founder and Executive Director of BPKS (Bangladesh Pratibandhi Kalyan Somity), Mostafa Kamal Majumder, editor, GreenWatch and adviser to BPKS, ABI Abdullah, former secretary to the government and Anwar Hazari of BPKS among others.

Abdus Sattar Dulal thanked the government, the Ministry of Finance, the Bangladesh Bank and the Dhaka Divisional administration for making the Lottery arranged to raise fund for BPKS a success.
