Fire breaks out at high-rise building in capital’s Banani

A fire broke out at a high-rise building in the capital's Banani area on Saturday afternoon.


The fire broke out at Ahmed Tower, a building beside FR Tower in Banani, around 5:30pm, said Fire Service officials.

Duty Officer Rozina Akter of the Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters' control room said they received the information about the fire at the 26-storey building at around 5:36pm.

Two units of the Fire Service are working to bring the blaze under control, she said.

The cause of the fire could not be known immediately, reports UNB.
