Miscreants set fire to three buses in the capital ahead of the 48-hour countrywide road-rail-waterway blockade called by BNP and other like-minded opposition parties.

Two buses of Manarat International University were set on fire at the Nobaberbagh Uttarpara Beribadh area at Mirpur 1 at 8:25 pm on Tuesday, confirmed Talha Bin Zashim, station officer of the Fire Service and Civil Defence (media cell).

Two firefighting units of Kalyanpur Fire Station went to the spot and doused the fire, he said.

Meanwhile, a BRTC bus was set on fire at Mirpur-10 at around 9:30 pm, reports UNB.

On information, one firefighting unit of Mirpur Fire Station rushed to the spot and doused the fire, according to the Fire Service and Civil Defence.
