Three shops gutted in fire in Khulna

The fire broke out at Mohsin Mor area of Khulna’s Daulatpur around 6 pm on Monday.



Three shops were gutted in a fire at Daulatpur in Khulna on Monday.

The fire broke out at Mohsin Mor area of Khulna’s Daulatpur around 6 pm on Monday.

According to eyewitnesses, smoke was seen flying from behind a cotton shop located in Daulatpur Mohsin Mor area of the city around 6pm.

Within minutes, the fire spread to three shops. There were two cotton shops and a tire shop.

Within minutes, the fire spread to two other shops including another cotton store and a tire shop.

On information, four fire fighting units rushed to the spot to douse the fire.

The fire was brought under control around 7 pm.

Mamun Mahmud, deputy director of Khulna Divisional Fire Service and Civil Defence, said the fire was brought under control around 7pm with the efforts of four of our units.

“The fire is now completely under control. Three shops were gutted in the fire. The cause of the fire and the extent of damage could not be ascertained. It will be possible to report after thorough investigation,” said the fire service official.
