Dhaka, Jan 21 - A fire that broke out on the top floor of a high rise building in Dhaka’s Topkhana Road earlier this morning is now under control.

Rashid Bin-Khalid, duty officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD) headquarters media cell, said the fire originated from the top floor of the 13-storey ‘Merherban Plaza’ on Topkhana Road around 7:33 am.

Responding to call, four firefighting units from several stations rushed to the spot and tamed the blaze around 8:15 am, he said.

The origin of the fire and damages caused by it could not be known immediately, the duty officer added.
