Chattogram, March 16 --A fire that broke out at a branch of the United Commercial Bank (UCB) in Rifle Club building on Jubilee Road in Chattogram City on Saturday evening was brought under control.

The fire originated at around 7:10 pm, said Mohammad Ali, senior station officer of Chandanpura Fire Service.

On information, six firefighting units rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control at 9:30 pm, he added.

The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage are yet to be ascertained, said the officer.

No casualties were reported. - UNB
