Fire on launch in Dhaka’s Shyambazar Ternimal

A launch caught fire at Shyambazar Terminal in the Buriganga on Tuesday.



Dhaka, Apr 23 – A fire broke out on the "MV Bangali" launch in Dhaka’s Shyambar Launch Terminal on early Tuesday afternoon.

On information five fire fighting units rushed there and brought the fire at the first floor of the launch under control.

Fire fighters brought the fire under control within an hour at 1:45 pm on Tuesday, said Talha Bin Zasim Station Officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence media cell. The fire broke out at 12:55 pm.

No passengers were on the launch at the time of the fire, the fire official said. 

The cause of the fire and extend of damage could not be known immediately, he added. - UNB
