Fire at Pran-RFL depot in Cumilla under control

A massive fire that broke out at a depot of Pran-RFL Group in Cumilla has been brought under control after three hours.

The fire started at the depot adjacent to Dhaka-Chittagong highway around 1:50pm on Friday and engulfed it, Bazlur Rashid, senior station officer at Fire Service and Civil Defense in Cumilla.
On information, four firefighting units rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control around 5pm, he added.
The goods of the depot were burnt in the fire, but no casualties were reported.
However, the origin of the fire and extent of damages could not be ascertained yet, reports UNB.
Mohammad Forkan, in charge of the depot, said: "Everyone was working. Around 1:50pm, there was a sudden blast, and then the fire started. We are not sure where the fire originated from. Initially, we tried to extinguish the fire and informed the fire service,” he added.
