A fire broke out in a multi-storey building in Bijoynagar area of the capital on Saturday.

Five units of the Fire Service rushed to the scene and are working to bring the blaze under control that broke out at around 3:00 pm.

Duty officer Rosina Akhtar of the Fire Service control room said the fire originated on the ninth floor of the 10-storey building. “The exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined. Our units are working to control the situation,” she added.

So far, Rosina said, there have been no reports of casualties, and fire service personnel are also taking measures to prevent the fire from spreading to other floors of the building, reports UNB.
