Patuakhali: Three Sail fish were caught in the net of a fisherman named Mahbub Majhi (46) in the Bay of Bengal near Kuakata. One of them weighs 60 kg and the other two weigh 10 kg. On Thursday morning, three fishes were brought to Alipur Fish Landing Center Abdullah Fish. At this time, the locals gather to have a look at these fish. As there was not much demand for these fish on the coast, a fish trader named Jahangir of Patuakhali bought three fish for ten thousand taka.

Three days before this, three Sail fish were caught in the net of Mahbub Majhi in the area adjacent to Sonar Char in the Bay of Bengal.

Kalapara Senior Upazila Fisheries Officer Apu Saha said that the scientific name of this fast moving deep sea fish is Sail Fish. This fish runs at a speed of 110 kilometers per hour. - Gofran Biswas Palash
