25 villages flooded in Jhalokati

Water level of all rivers in Jhalokati district including the Bishkhali and Sugandharivers has continued to rise.
About 25 villages of the district’s four upazilas were flooded due to heavy tidal surge on Thursday morning. As a result, people of the villages are facing sufferings.
According to Bangladesh Water Development Board, low-lying areas of coastal districts and their offshore islands and chars are likely to be inundated by tidal surges due to a low pressure at Bay.
According sources, 10 villages of Kathalia upazila have been flooded as there is no embankment on the Bishkhali river.
