About 25 villages of the district’s four upazilas were flooded due to heavy tidal surge on Thursday morning. As a result, people of the villages are facing sufferings.
According to Bangladesh Water Development Board, low-lying areas of coastal districts and their offshore islands and chars are likely to be inundated by tidal surges due to a low pressure at Bay.
According sources, 10 villages of Kathalia upazila have been flooded as there is no embankment on the Bishkhali river.
