Egg prices decrease, per hali Tk 40

The price of chicken eggs has decreased by Tk six per hali (four pieces) in the kitchen markets of Hili in Dinajpur. Retailers are selling per hali eggs at Tk 40.



The price of chicken eggs has decreased by Tk six per hali (four pieces) in the kitchen markets of Hili in Dinajpur.  Retailers are selling per hali eggs at Tk 40.

The price has decreased due to strict monitoring of the Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection (DNCRP).

On Friday (August 19), during visit to a kitchen market it was seen that per hali eggs are being sold at Tk 40. On Wednesday, its price was Tk 46.

A customer named Ramiz Uddin said eggs are very nutritious, and we always keep eggs at home. But, because of the sudden price increase, we bought less eggs. But, today the price is Tk 40 per hali.

Day laborer Liakat Hossain said, “We are poor and can buy less fish and meat. Today, I have bought a hali eggs at Tk 40”.

Abu Bakkar Siddique, a wholesale egg trader in Hili Bazar, said farmers used to buy a sack of chicken food at Tk 1,500 to Tk 1,600. Currently, it is being sold at Tk 2800.  For this reason, price of eggs has increased. But the price has decreased due to steps taken by the administration.
