Arambagh KS relegate from BPL

DHAKA - Arambagh Krira Sangha relegated from TVS Bangladesh Premier League Football as they suffered a solitary goal defeat to Uttar Baridhara Club held today at Birshreshtha Shaheed Sepoy Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Stadium in the city’s Kamalapur.

In the day’s match, substitute forward Rashedul Islam Shovo scored the all-important goal for Baridhara in the 35th minute of the match.

After the breather, Baridhara however got several scoring chances to increase the margin but failed to convert any lack of proper finishing.

With the day’s defeat, bottom-ranked Arambagh Krira Sangha remained at their previous credit of five points from 21 outings and even if Arambagh were able to win their remaining three matches of the league, they have no chance to stay in the league.

With the day’s win, Baridhara moved up to ninth position with 19 points from 21 matches.

Earlier, in the first leg, the two teams played out to a 4-4 goals draw held at Shaheed Ahsan Ullah Master Stadium in Tongi.

Tuesday’s matches: Chittagong Abahani Limited vs Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society at Army Stadium at 4 pm, Abahani Limited Dhaka, vs Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra at BNS at 4 pm and Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra vs Brothers Union Club at BNS at 6 pm.BSS
