Shaheed Zia Memorial Gold Cup football begins in Chandpur

Chandpur, 6 Dec -Shaheed Zia Memorial Gold Cup Football Tournament
has begun at Upazila Algi Bazar Durgapur High School ground through the
opening match between Nayani All Star Club and New Haimchar City team on
Friday.

District BNP president and secretary of expatriate welfare affairs of BNP
central executive committee Sheikh Farid Ahmed Manik formally inaugurated the
tournament as the chief guest.

District BNP secretary advocate Solim Ullah Selim was the present as special
guest in the opening ceremony, presided over by Haimchar upazila BNP
president Amin Ulla Bepari.

District BNP vice president Ferdous Alam Babu, publicity secretary
Sharifuddin Palash, Haimchar upazila BNP general secretary Mazharul Islam
Safiq, district Chhatra Dal president Iman Hossain Gazi and general secretary
Ismail Hossain Patwari ,among others, were also present.

Twenty teams of the upazila are participating in the month-long tournament.
The organizers informed that the semi-finals and the final of the meet will
be held in January next year.
