Bangladesh booters plan to perform Umrah

Dhaka, 10 March  - The Bangladesh national football team, now undergoing conditioning camp in Taif, have plan to perform Umrah to attain purification in a minor pilgrimage.

National football team manager Amer Khan through a video message confirmed the matter today.

 "We have got a day break today during the training, so we all made a sudden plan together to perform Umrah. As part of our plan we are going to perform Umrah today," he said.

National football team's defender Rahmat Mia said he has experience of performing Umrah twice before with the football team and this would the third occasion he is going to perform Umrah. 

"In fact, for a Muslim, this is a place of emotion, a place of peace. Thank to Allah for giving us the opportunity to perform Umrah. It will help us to increase our focus in the conditioning camp and we will find mental peace. This Umrah will bring benefit for our team and we hope this Umrah will make our lives more beautiful," said the national defender. 

National football team captain Jamal Bhuyan said: "We are going to Mecca to perform Umrah. In the last two or three years, when we got the chance, we all went together to Macca to perform Umrah. Today is the same. I think it will good for the team as well as for me."
National goalkeeper Sujon Hossain thanked to Allah for getting opportunity to perform Umrah with the national team.

He said he would pray for all, especially for the national team, to Allah so that his team can win qualifiers match against India.

The national booters have been undergoing intensive training under the supervision of head coach Javier Cabrera since March 6 last to enhance their preparation. 

The national booters will return home on March 17 after completing their intensive training in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Bangladesh will play their away AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers match against India on March 25 in Shillong, India.
