Ebimobowei's brace secures victory for Ctg Abahani in BPL

Dhaka, 13 May - Nigerian forward Peter Ebimobowei scored a brace as Chittagong Abahani Limited registered a hard-fought 3-2 goal victory over Swadhinata Krira Sangha in the TVS Bangladesh Premier League football held Friday at Shaheed Dhirendranath Datta Stadium in Cumilla.

Apart from Peter Ebimobowei's two goals, another Nigerian forward Candy Augustine supported him with a lone goal for Chittagong Abahani Limited.

While midfielder Sabbir Hossen and forward Bishal Dasa netted one goal each for Swadhinata Krira Sangha.

The match was locked goalless at the breather.

After the barren first half, Candy Augustine finally broke the deadlock scoring the first goal for Chittagong Abahani Limited in the 73rd minute but the lead lasted for couple of minutes as Sabbir Hossen restored the parity for Swadhinata in the 76th minute of the match.

Ebimobowei again put Chittagong Abahani ahead scoring his first and second goal for the team in the 85th minute and increased the margin further scoring his second and third goal for the team in the 88th minute of the match.

Bishal Das reduced the margin scoring the second goal for Swadhinata KS in the 90th minute of the match.

The day's win saw, the port city team Chittagong Abahani Limited raise their tally to 26 points from 15 matches while bottom-ranked Swadhinata Krira Sangha remained at their previous credit of six points playing the same number of matches.

Earlier, in the first phase, Chittagong Abahani Limited beat Swadhinata Krira Sangha by 2-1 goals at Shaheed Muktijoddha Smrity Stadium in Rajshahi.
