From Philippe Lazzarini, the UNRWA Commissioner-General as posted on his official X account (previously known as Twitter)

How many more Palestinian lives will be wiped off from their homeland by bombardments, hunger or lack of medical care?

More than 250 Palestinians in Gaza have been reported killed in the last two days alone.

These are lives.

These are human beings.

They cannot just be reduced to numbers.

Atrocities are becoming a new norm, under our watch, making the unbearable bearable with indifference.

Is this our new “humanity”?

Like Omar El Akkad says: “One day…., everyone will have always been against this”.

That day will however be too late and will stain our consciousness for generations to come.
