Jeddah, 17-09-2025 - The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) welcomes the report issued by the Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory, which confirmed that Israel, the occupying power, committed the crime of genocide against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip. The OIC General Secretariat calls on the international community to take immediate action to end this genocide and hold those responsible accountable.

The OIC General Secretariat also condemns the escalation of crimes committed by the Israeli occupation forces, particularly the launch of a ground invasion of Gaza City, along with the continued starvation, abuse, destruction, and forced displacement of its population. The OIC General Secretariat deems this to be an extension of the crime of genocide, and warns that the continuation of these crimes will lead to serious and catastrophic repercussions for the situation in the Occupied Palestinian Territory.

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation reiterates its call on the UN Security Council to take decisive action to impose an immediate and comprehensive ceasefire, end the Israeli policy of starvation and blockade, ensure the entry of humanitarian aid into all parts of the Gaza Strip, take the necessary measures to prevent the crime of genocide, and implement the provisional measures ordered by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in 2024 in this regard. – OIC News
