The health of BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia has become more stable over the past month, her personal physician Dr AZM Zahid Hossain said on Friday.
“By the infinite grace of Allah, the prayers of everyone, and the treatment provided by the medical board, her condition is much more stable than before. Currently, there has been no deterioration, and her physical state has remained steady over the past month,” Dr Zahid said.
Dr Zahid, who is also a member of the BNP Standing Committee, made the remarks during a press briefing in front of the main gate of Evercare Hospital in Dhaka.
He added that Begum Zia underwent a minor procedure on Friday. “She was taken to the operation theatre, and the procedure was completed successfully. She tolerated it well. She is currently receiving treatment in a cabin equipped with ICU facilities within the Critical Care Unit (CCU),” he said.
Wishing for her full recovery, Dr Zahid said, “May Allah grant her the strength to continue treatment under the guidance of our medical board, which includes both domestic and foreign physicians.”
During the briefing, he expressed gratitude to the countrymen and requested everyone’s prayers for Begum Khaleda Zia’s overall well-being.
