Finance and Planning Minister Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury distributed relief among flood victims in Chattogram today.

Finance and Planning Minister Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury on Thursday said the government will continue providing relief and rehabilitation support until all flood-affected communities are fully rehabilitated.

Speaking while distributing relief among flood victims in Chattogram's Patenga area, the minister said relief and rehabilitation activities are already underway across the affected areas.

He said around seven lakh people have been affected by the recent floods in Chattogram, with more than one lakh people already receiving government assistance.

"Rice, cooked meals and dry food are being distributed among the flood-affected people," he said.

The minister also noted that the floods had damaged many roads and instructed the authorities concerned to expedite repair work, saying restoration efforts are already in progress.

After the relief distribution programme in Patenga, Amir Khasru left for Chandanaish Upazila. He is also scheduled to distribute relief among flood victims in Satkania, Lohagara and Banshkhali later in the day.
