The United States on Monday announced an emergency aid package worth $15.5 million for Colombia following a powerful earthquake that killed more than 100 people in the South American country.
“We are united in prayer with the Colombian people and stand ready to support President Abelardo de la Espriella,” the US State Department said in a post on X, three days after the Washington-backed leader took office.
The aid is intended to support emergency response and relief efforts as authorities continue to assess the damage and assist communities affected by the disaster.
