2 new factories get LEED certification
Two readymade garment (RMG) factories in Bangladesh have received LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification from the US Green Building Council (USGBC).
These two factories are: FASHION FLOOR BD LTD. Address:5107,Godarchala,Telihati,Sreepur, Gazipur, Bangladesh, 1747, Rating system: LEED BD+C: New Constructionv4 - LEED v4, Points: 71Certification level: gold,
MNR Sweaters Ltd.Address: Baraiderchala, Sreepur, Gazipur, Bangladesh, 1740, Rating system: LEED O+M: Existing Buildingsv4.1 - LEED v4.1, Points: 85Certification level: platinum.
With the addition of these two factories, Bangladesh now has 275 LEED certified RMG factories, of which 116 are Platinum, and 140 are Gold rated. Additionally, Bangladesh now boasts 70 out of the top 100 Highest Rated LEED Factories in the world, reports BSS.
