The United States has expressed a strong interest in investing in Bangladesh's fisheries and livestock sectors.

During a meeting on Monday, US chargé d'affaires Helen LaFave conveyed this commitment to Fisheries and Livestock Adviser Farida Akhter at her office. “The US is keen to support the development of Bangladesh's fisheries and livestock industries,” LaFave stated.

Akhter highlighted Bangladesh's desire to leverage the extensive experience of the US in marine fisheries resource extraction. Both parties emphasized their commitment to collaborating on various mutual issues.

The meeting was attended by several officials, including Fisheries and Livestock Secretary Sayeed Mahmud Belal Haider, Additional Secretary ATM Mostafa Kamal, USAID Director Joseph Lessard, and Agricultural Attache Sarah Gilleski from the US embassy.
