Police have arrested 72 additional individuals in connection with vandalism and looting that occurred during anti-Israel protests across several cities on Monday.
The arrests, made over the past 24 hours until 8 a.m. Wednesday, were reported by the Bangladesh Police Headquarters. Among those detained, 33 were arrested in Khulna, 19 in Sylhet, five in Chattogram, and four each in Gazipur, Narayanganj, Cox’s Bazar, and three in Cumilla.
This brings the total number of arrests over the past two days to 121, with 10 cases filed. Authorities are continuing their investigations and plan to file additional charges against those involved in the violence.
Police are also reviewing video footage from the protests to identify further suspects, and operations will persist until all individuals responsible for the destruction are apprehended.
