In the twilight of 2024, the skies wept

Two planes fell, and the world has kept

The echo of anguish, the grief profound,

As hearts break for lives no longer around.

Azerbaijan’s skies and Muan’s night,

Witnessed horrors that stole the light.

Passengers’ dreams now scattered in air-

Their stories cut short in despair’s snare.

The causes, veiled in shadows still

Birds, defenses, or a machine’s ill will.

A fragile trust in the heavens’ embrace

Shaken by tragedy, left in its place.

True, time will heal, but we’ll not forget-

The souls who perished, their lives unmet.

They soar now beyond our sight

Guided by stars in the endless night.

Let 2025 and the years to be

Learn from this pain, let us decree—

That no more wings shall falter or fall,

Safe skies for one, safe skies for all.

May wisdom guide each future flight,

May safety prevail through day and night.

With every ascent, may hope resound,

Let air journeys be safe and sound.

(This poem is dedicated to the victims of recent Azerbaijan Airlines and Jeju Air’s tragic plane crash)
