Russian House celebrates Bangladesh's Victory Day

Russian House in Dhaka celebrated Bangladesh's 51st Victory Day.

Valiant freedom fighters, members of Bangladesh-Russia Friendship Society including General Secretary Professor Md Shahidullah Sikder, and members of some other public organizations attended the event.

The Head of Russian House Maxim Dobrokhotov congratulated the attendees and honored the memory of those who died for the independence of Bangladesh. 

Speakers of the grand gathering thanked Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) for the decisive contribution to the struggle for freedom of Bangladesh during 1971 liberation war and emphasized the continuity of Russia in the development and prosperity of the country. 

The co-organizer of the event, the Liberation War Academy Trust and its Chairman Dr Abul Kalam Azad displayed updated materials on the history of those days, as well as a special issue of the magazine "Joy Bangla," read a media release.
