Prothom Alo editor gets bail from lower court too

A Dhaka court on Wednesday also granted bail to Prothom Alo editor and publisher Matiur Rahman following his surrender in a case filed under the Digital Security Act (DSA).



A Dhaka court on Wednesday also granted bail to Prothom Alo editor and publisher Matiur Rahman following his surrender in a case filed under the Digital Security Act (DSA).
Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Md Asaduzzaman passed the bail order at an early afternoon after his bail paper submitted by his lawyer.
The court accepted the bail paper upon a bond of Tk 20,000.
Later, Matiur Rahman filed another bail appeal and the court fixed August 16 for next hearing. Till then Matiur Rahman will remain on bail.
Earlier on April 2, the High Court allowed six-month bail to Matiur Rahman in the same case.
