Defamation case filed against 'Daily Fenir Somoy' editor
The case has been filed in the court of Senior Judicial Magistrate Ashiqur Rahman on Thursday.
A Tk 10 crore defamation case has been filed against 'Daily Fenir Somoy' Editor Mohammad Shahadat Hossain for calling MP candidate for Feni-2 constituency in the upcoming 12th parliamentary election Advocate Anwarul Karim Faruk a 'dummy candidate'.
The case has been filed in the court of Senior Judicial Magistrate Ashiqur Rahman on Thursday.
Later, a protest meeting was held on the court premises demanding cancellation of the registration of the daily Fenir Somoy.
District Awami League Forest and Environment Secretary Syed Abul Hossain, District Awami League Law Secretary M Shahjahan Saju, Sonagazi Upazila Awami League Senior Vice-President Nasir Uddin Bahar, Dilip Kumar Saha, Ahsan Kabir Bengal, Rasik Shekhar Bhowmik, Gazi Tarek Aziz, among others, spoke at the meeting.
