Suspected JMB militant held in capital

RAB on Thursday arrested a suspected leader of JMB from Bosila area.



Dhaka, Sept 9 :  The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Thursday claimed to have arrested a suspected leader of banned militant outfit Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) from a house in the Bosila area of the city.

The arrestee has been identified as Emdadul Haque Master.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of RAB cordoned off a building near Mohammadpur Bosila Bridge in the early hours of Thursday, said ASP (media) at RAB Headquarters Imran Khan.

Within a few hours, around 8am, the RAB personnel arrested the militant from his hideout in the building after a raid, officials said.

"During questioning, the security guard of the house told us that Emdadul took the house on rent on September 2, posing as a printing press employee," said Commander Khandaker Al Moin, Director (media) at RAB headquarters.

The elite force has seized pistols, bullets, some chemicals and Tk 3 lakh in cash from his possession, officials said, reports UNB.
