Cop's wife dies falling from 8th floor of city bldg

A wife of policeman died after falling from the balcony of an eight-storey building at Motijheel in the capital on Friday.

The incident happened around 9:30 am at AGB Colony.

The deceased was Hamida Akter, 28, wife of Saddam Hussain, hailed from Dhamrai upazila in Dhaka. Saddam Hussain works in Ministry of Home Affairs as a policeman. The woman used to live with her husband at Motijheel AGB colony .

Motijheel Police Station sub-inspector Fatema Akter said, ''On information, we rescued the woman in a bloody state from under building number-3 at AGB colony of Motijheel. Later, she was taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital where the doctor declared her dead.''

The SI further said, ''We have known that Hamida fell down from the building accidentally. The exact cause of the death will be known after receiving the autopsy report.''
