
The bodies arrived at Sylhet Osmani International Airport on Tuesday morning (30 June).
The five expatriates died in a tragic road accident in the Shahaniya area of Qatar on 21 June. The victims were identified as Abdul Qadir of Gachhbari village, Mustaq Ahmed Afnan and Zubair Ahmed of Majhtaluk village, Jasim Uddin of Agataluk village, and Jibal Ahmed of Amarpur village. All were residents of Kanaighat upazila in Sylhet.
The bodies were flown from Hamad International Airport on Monday (29 June) at 10:15pm local time aboard Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight BG-226.
According to the Bangladesh Embassy in Qatar, the repatriation was arranged with financial assistance from the Bangladesh Wage Earners' Welfare Board.
The Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment said its relevant departments are coordinating the handover of the bodies to the victims' families and ensuring they receive the necessary support following their arrival in Bangladesh.
