A total of 154 more undocumented Bangladeshi migrants were repatriated to the country from Libya today.

The repatriation was conducted under a coordinated effort by the foreign ministry, Bangladesh mission in Tripoli and the International Organization for Migration (IOM), a foreign ministry's press release said here.

The returnees arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) in Dhaka at 7am boarding a chartered flight of Buraq Air.

As part of the repatriation process, IOM provided each individual with Taka 6,000 in cash, some food supplies, medical care and temporary accommodation.

Upon arrival at the HSIA, officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and IOM were present to receive and assist the returnees.

This repatriation is part of an ongoing effort by the Bangladesh government and IOM to bring home Bangladeshi nationals who have been stranded in Libya without legal documents, reports BSS.

The foreign ministry here in collaboration with the Bangladesh Embassy in Tripoli has been working closely with IOM to ensure the safe and dignified return of these vulnerable individuals, the release added.
