Some detainees attempted to evade arrest by presenting United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) cards. The operation apprehended 530 Myanmar nationals, 85 Bangladeshis, seven Indonesians, five Indians, and one Nepali. All detainees were taken to the Semenyih Immigration Depot for further investigation and legal proceedings.
The violations uncovered included lacking identification documents, overstaying visas, and possessing unrecognized cards, among other breaches of Malaysian immigration laws.
The operation, which concluded by 7 a.m., was carried out by 153 officers from the Immigration Department, General Operations Force (GOF), MBDK, and the National Registration Department (JPN).
Deputy Director-General of Immigration, Jafri Embok Taha, noted that some detainees used "guerrilla tactics" to evade capture. Immigration authorities will continue to conduct operations to identify, arrest, and deport foreign nationals violating the Immigration Act and other relevant laws.
