IOM to Repatriate Bangladeshis from Libya in March
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has announced plans for three special repatriation flights this month to help bring stranded Bangladeshi nationals back from Libya.
According to the Bangladesh Embassy in Tripoli, the first flight will depart from Misrata on March 12, followed by two additional flights from Tripoli on March 19 and 26. These flights are part of an ongoing effort to ensure the safe return of Bangladeshi migrants facing difficult conditions in Libya.
The embassy confirmed that IOM has arranged these flights in coordination with Libyan authorities and is diligently working to complete all necessary formalities, including securing exit visas (Khurooj Nihai) and obtaining approval from Libyan officials. The flights will primarily serve registered migrants from the cities of Tripoli and Misrata.
In addition to these scheduled flights, the Bangladesh Embassy in Tripoli continues to work towards repatriating other registered migrants from Benghazi. The embassy is also providing assistance to those newly interested in returning home, ensuring their safe and efficient departure.
The embassy has reassured families and migrants that every possible measure is being taken to facilitate safe repatriation and remains in close contact with Libyan authorities to address any challenges.
