Amir khan and Suriya
Suriya recently shared his excitement about the project, stating, “After a long time, Allu Aravind came up with this idea for the sequel. I told him we could definitely explore it. Yes, the talks have started; things are in motion.” Both the Hindi and Tamil versions of "Ghajini 2" are expected to be shot simultaneously.
As filmmakers aim for pan-India audiences, remaking cult classics is becoming less favorable. Both Aamir and Suriya are enthusiastic but wary of being labeled a remake, concerned that releasing one version before the other could dampen interest. To mitigate this, Aravind and Mantena are considering simultaneous filming and a joint release.
The actors are keen on this approach but are awaiting finalized scripts before signing on. Given the original's significance to their careers, there’s a strong focus on crafting an authentic sequel rather than a mere cash grab. Currently, the scripting is underway, with a clearer outlook on "Ghajini 2" expected by mid-2025.
