The number of screenings for the film Jongli, starring Siam Ahmed and Shobnom Bubly, has been increased in multiplexes following initial concerns about its limited showings. Zahid Hasan Abhi, head of the film's production company, Tiger Media, confirmed the update.

Abhi explained to local media that while Eid films usually generate significant buzz, Jongli initially had fewer screenings, and he was unsure of the reasons behind this. Despite a large billboard at the Shimanto Shambar branch of Cineplex, the movie had no shows scheduled there at first. However, as of today, two shows have been added at that location—one at 11 AM and another at 4 PM. Additionally, an extra show has been added at Jamuna Blockbuster. This increase in showings, just one day after the film’s release, marks a positive turn for the Jongli team.

Mesbah Uddin Ahmed, Senior Manager of Media and Marketing at Star Cineplex, confirmed the additional shows, stating that the decision was made based on audience demand. "We’ve responded to the preferences of moviegoers," he said.

Earlier, the producers and crew of Jongli had expressed frustration with the limited screenings at Star Cineplex. They claimed that, out of six films released for Eid, Jongli was given fewer shows compared to films like Daagi and Borbaad. Despite expectations for a more balanced distribution, Jongli received fewer screenings than Chokkor 302, a film with relatively less buzz, raising concerns about potential financial losses.

The increase in screenings has been a welcome relief for the film's team, signaling a positive shift in its box office prospects.

Directed by M Raahim, Jongli features Siam Ahmed and Shobnom Bubly in leading roles, with supporting performances by Prarthana Fardin Dighi, Dilara Zaman, Shahiduzzaman Selim, and Rashed Mamun Apu.
