Dengue: 3 more die; 907 new hospitalized in 24hrs

Health officials today said they recorded 907 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts killing at least three persons in the past 24 hours.

"During the period, (of the 907) 163 patients were hospitalised in Barishal division, 99 in Chattogram division, 49 in Dhaka division, 168 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and 88 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas, 202 in Khulna division, 45 in Mymensingh division, 73 in Rajshahi division, 19 in Rangpur division and one in Sylhet division, a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) statement said.

Since the start of the dengue onslaughts Bangladesh this year witnessed so far 88 deaths while the disease inflicted 30,830.

The dengue last year claimed 413 lives and inflicted 1,02,861 people in the country.

Besides, the dengue claimed 575 lives and inflicted 1,01,214 people in 2024, reports BSS.
