The government has changed the Bangla name of the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs to “Nari O Shishu Bishoyok Montronaloy,” while retaining its English name unchanged.

The ministry issued a gazette notification in this regard today stating that the decision would take effect immediately.

According to the notification, the ministry will use its newly designated Bangla name in all official activities, documents and notifications.

However, the ministry’s English name, “Ministry of Women and Children Affairs,” will remain unchanged.

The proposal to change the ministry’s Bangla name was approved at a Cabinet meeting on October 18, chaired by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, reports BSS.
