2 children drown in Khulna

Two children of a family drowned in a pond at Sharafpur village in Dumuria upazila of Khulna.

The deceased were identified as Kulsum, 7, daughter of Rubel Sardar and Mozammel, 6, son of Mozammel Sardar, reports UNB.

Dumuria Police Station Officer-in-Charge Koni Mia said the two children were playing in the courtyard of the house around 2pm on Monday. At one point during the game, they fell into a pond near the house.

Later, their bodies were found floating in the pond around 3:30 pm, he said.
