Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Habibul Awal said that the election commission (EC) has the power to write to the cabinet.

Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Habibul Awal said that the election commission (EC) has the power to write to the cabinet to withdraw the Jamalpur Deputy Commissioner and warn others before the poll schedule. Action will be taken if such biased behavior is found in the future.
The CEC said this while addressing reporters at the Nirbachan Bhaban on Monday (September 18).
In reply to a question, he said, there is no bar to send letter to the government. If any controversy is raised about the conduct even before the schedule, then the Election Commission can definitely bring it to the attention of the government.
CEC also said that we have to be vigilant about the election environment. Deputy Commissioner (DC) is an important post. During the election they have to look after everything as returning officers. Therefore, we do not want any biased behavior from them.
