48-hour blockade: 6 vehicles setting afire reported till Thursday

At least six attacks were recorded till 6 pm on Thursday during the 48-hour blockade called by BNP, Jamaat and some like-minded parties.

A total of seven vehicles were set on fire by miscreants during this time and two of those  were set on fire in Dhaka city, said Talha Bin Zashim, station officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence Media Cell.

Meanwhile, three arson attacks were reported in Dhaka division and one in Rajshahi division, reports UNB.

Three buses, six trucks, two covered vans and two trucks were burnt during this period.

A total of 63 members of six firefighting units worked to douse the fires across the country during this period, added the fire official.

So far, 290 vehicles were set on fire during the blockade and hartal from October 29 to November 22 enforced by BNP- Jamaat and like-minded parties across the country, according to police headquarters.
