Every citizen should plant one fruit, timber and medicinal tree to improve our quality of life, Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Saber Hossain Chowdhury said on Sunday.

“By planting trees collectively, we will be able to build a greener, healthier and more sustainable and resilient environment,” the minister said while launching the 'One Tree4Mother' campaign in Bangladesh by planting a Neem tree at the Indian Embassy in Dhaka.
High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh Pranay Kumar Verma was present at that time.
The minister highlighted that the 'One Tree4Mother' campaign embodies the shared commitment to preserving and nurturing the environment for future generations and is a testament to the enduring friendship and cooperation between Bangladesh and India, reports UNB.
“Together, we can create more sustainable future, combat climate change, and leave a lasting legacy for our children and grandchildren,” he said.
This campaign fosters a culture of environmental stewardship and responsibility, he said, adding that everyone has a role in safeguarding our planet by inspiring communities to come together to plant, nurture, and protect trees that, in turn, protect us.
